Novelah works as a mobile app where you make money by reading local novels. It sounds like a pretty fun way to earn some cash – I mean who wouldn’t want to get paid for reading? I got curious about it myself.
But can you really trust it? Is Novelah legit or just another scam app?
This Novelah review will show you everything about what the app offers. You’ll see exactly what to expect from it before you put it on your phone. That way you won’t waste your time or data on something that doesn’t deliver.
After going through all the details, you can decide if Novelah deserves space on your screen or not. Gonna explain it all so you can make up your mind.
What is Novelah?
Ok look – Novelah‘s this app where you read stories and they pay you for it. That’s basically it. I mean, yeah there’s other stuff you can do on there to make money too but… that’s the main thing.
It works – like actually works, not some fake thing. You really get paid. But wait a sec before you go downloading it.
You gotta figure out if it’s gonna be worth your time, ya know? Like… how much effort you need to put in and what you’ll actually get back. From what I can tell, sometimes these things sound better than they end up being.
I looked into all the different ways you can make money on it. Read the stories, do whatever tasks they give you, that kind of thing. The money adds up but – honestly? You should probably know what you’re getting yourself into first.
How to collect Novelah coins?
You open the app and – bam – there’s coins all over your screen. That’s it. Nothing fancy about it.

When you click a coin (…) you’ll see this thing pop up. Says you can double what you get by watching some ad. Or just skip it and grab your 100 coins. Whatever works for you.
The coins show up again at random times. I mean… they just appear while you’re doing other stuff in the app.
Yeah it’s easy money but (being real with you) the amount’s pretty small. Won’t make you rich or anything. Like, it’s there if you want it – just don’t expect much from it.
Making money from reading novels
You read books by local authors and the app pays you – actually wait, they’re more like short stories sometimes. The app tracks your reading with this coin thing in the corner… it spins while you scroll through the pages.

Each time that coin goes full circle you get between 40-80 coins. Not much but adds up if you read a lot? I tried it out and found myself kinda getting into the stories, which I didn’t expect.
Reading through a whole story isn’t hard since – well, you’d probably read anyway. When you finish one there’s always more stories waiting. The coins build up slower than you’d think but I mean… you’re reading for free so that’s something.
You won’t get rich doing this, but the stories themselves are worth checking out. Plus the coins are a little extra something in your pocket while you do something you’d do anyway – reading good stories without paying for them.
Mobile Games
I tried out those puzzle games on Novelah — they’re actually a decent way to earn coins. There’s always plenty of games available… so that’s cool.
When you want to try this, the Money icon sits on the right side of the app. Tap it and you’ll see all the games you can play.
Something I learned the hard way — you MUST open the game through the My Games section in Novelah after installing it. If you don’t, they can’t track what you’re doing and you won’t get paid. Seriously.
Each game has different tasks. Complete them and the coins are yours. And once you finish everything in one game? Just move on to another one cuz you won’t earn anything more from completed games.
Most of what I found were puzzle games. If you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll probably have fun while earning. I thought they were pretty decent.
How Do Novelah’s Daily Tasks Pay You Extra?
Tap the Invite icon and hit that Offer link at the top – that’s where Novelah hides all their daily tasks.
The cool thing about these tasks? They’re actually super simple. You just gotta read some novels inside the app, watch a few short videos… basically just be active on Novelah. Nothing complicated.
I’ve actually analyzed other apps that work kinda the same way on my blog – y’know, sites like Earnapp, FreeCash, GG2u, WalkTask. They all do similar stuff.
The rewards from these tasks are basically bonus points for doing what you’d already be doing in the app anyway. I mean, if you’re already using Novelah, might as well get paid extra for it, right?
Inviting friends
You know what, Novelah actually gives you a chance to snag some extra money with their friend thing too. Pretty much all you gotta do is get people to put the app on their phones and join up – that’s how you start makin some cash. You just need to share your special code thingy with them and like remind them to put it in when they’re signing up. When they use your code, they kinda become your referal person in this whole setup.
But here’s the thing… for you to get paid, your friend has to read at least 5 chapters of some story for 7 days in a row (yeah, every single day). If they somehow stick with this reading stuff, you’ll end up with a whopping 180,000 coins as your reward or whatever. If they mess up and don’t read for all 7 days, you’ll still walk away with 110,000 coins – that is, if they remembered to type in your code when they first joined.
At first look you might think “wow I’m gonna be rich with all these coins!” but in a way, the real value of what you get is pretty disapointing. I’ll tell you more about why it’s such a bummer later, but just know it’s virtually not worth the hassle of trying to talk your friends into downloading yet another app.
What Can You Actually Do With All Those Coins?
Ok, so you’ve been doing all these tasks in the app and racking up coins. I’ve been wondering too – what can we actually do with this stuff once we get it?
You can basically swap these coins for different rewards based on, you know, where you happen to live. PayPal is pretty much available to everyone, which is… well, it’s a good thing I guess. But honestly, you need to collect a ridiculous 15,000,000 coins just to get your hands on about $20 thru PayPal.
That’s sorta crazy if you think about it. I tried it for a while and it’s almost like you’ll be working on your phone for ages before you ever reach that number. The other payout options in your area actually need way less coins, so in some respects, they’re probably a smarter choice for most of us.
The whole system is pretty easy to figure out, more or less. I do like that they have PayPal as an option cuz it’s super convenient. If your looking for other places to make a little extra money online, you might want to check out similar sites like TopSurveys, Multipolls or Pagazani that also send money to your PayPal account too.
Can You Actually Make Money on Novelah?
Novelah talks big with all those coins you earn, but too it’s almost worthless when you try to get real cash. I checked it out and the numbers are pretty wild.
So those daily tasks? They give you like 15,000 to 30,000 coins which sounds like a lot. But that’s actually just a few cents when you do the math.
Reading a whole book only gives you a few thousand coins. That’s crazy low for the time you put in, even if you’re someone who reads super fast.
The reality is you need at least 15,000,000 coins just to cash out $20 through PayPal. That’s a ridicolous amount!
Even if you somehow managed to get 10 referrals, which is pretty hard to pull off honestly, you’d still be nowhere close to getting that money.
In my opinion, the earning potential here is just really low. You’d basically need to use this app for like 2-3 months straight before you could get any real money out.
So yea, it might feel like you’re earning tons of coins, but they’re worth next to nothing in the real world.
Can You Join Novelah Too?
Wanna make some money with Novelah? First thing you gotta do is download their app. Pretty obvious right but sometimes people forget this step. After you open it, you’ll need to sign up either with your email or just connect your Google or Facebook account if that’s easier.

The app doesn’t really say exactly which countries can use it. But from what I can tell, you can prablably join from anywhere in the world. I mean, technically it seems to work everywhere.
One thing I noticed though is most of the people using it live in Southeast Asia. So I’m guessing they’re really pushing the app hard in that part of the world. You can definitely tell by looking at the languages they offer too – there’s English (obviously), but then also Indonesian, Filipino, Portuguese, Thai and Vietnamese. If I had to bet, they’re focusing a lot on getting people from the Philippines to join up.
Once you’re done signing up and everything, you can just log in and start making money right away. That’s basically how it works. Nothing too complicated about getting started with this one.
Does it Work On Your on regular computers?
The app for Novelah runs pretty well on phones, both Android and Apple too. You won’t have any truble with that part. It’s actually kinda simple to use once you get past a annoying thing I’ll tell you about in a sec.
What bugs me most is those pop-up ads. They take what feels like forever to load up. You’re just sitting there… waiting for them to finish so you can get back to what you was doing.
If your thinking about using your laptop or desktop instead, well that’s just not gunna happen. Novelah does have this web page, I mean, it exists and stuff. But all it shows is the novels you might wanna read.
You can’t even open the actual stories on their website at all. Weird right?
So if your trying to make some money from Novelah, you absolutely gotta download the app to your phone. No way around it.
I’d say the whole experience is just OK. Those ads mess up the flow of everything. You have to keep stopping what you’re doing every time an ad pops up. Pretty annoying if you ask me.
Is it worth downloading? Maybe if you really need the extra cash and don’t mind staring at your screen while ads play. But honestly there’s other options out there that won’t drive you crazy with waiting.
Is the Novelah app a waste of your time?
Novelah is a somewhat different app where you can supposedly make some money by reading novels and finishing different tasks. But I’ve actually looked at it closely, and I’d say it’s not really something you should bother with.
The main issue with Novelah is how little you actually earn for all the time you put in. The app has this ridiculously high payout limit that takes forever to reach. You’ll be spending hours and hours of your time just trying to get to that point where you can finally cash out.
You could be using that same time with better apps that pay more for less work. I’m not saying these other options will make you rich quick or anything, but they’re definitely more efficient ways to earn a little extra money online.
If you want some better options, you might want to take a peek at those 10 Apps that pay you real money without investment. The apps on that list pretty much all have better earning potential than Novelah, so you’ll actaully be able to see some decent money coming in without waiting till the end of time.
Got some thoughts about Novelah? Maybe you’ve tried it yourself? I’d be intrested to hear what you think in the comments below.
