Walking turns into real money through several different phone apps. One option is WalkTask.
I downloaded WalkTask on my phone and spent time testing it myself. My goal? To find out if it actually pays or wastes your time.
The app works in a pretty simple way – it counts your steps and converts them into points. Those points become real cash or rewards.
This isn’t the only way to earn while walking. Other apps and businesses give you stuff just for putting on your shoes and moving around.

Some people turn walking into a small business. The more steps you take, the more you can earn.
I checked every part of Walktask to see what’s true and what’s not. My tests show exactly what you’ll get from using it – no guessing involved.
Based on my real experience, I’ll tell you if Walktask pays enough to matter or if you should skip it and try something else.
What is Walktask and How Does It Work?
Walktask pays you money for walking around with your phone. The app counts your steps throughout the day and turns them into coins you can cash out later.
Getting started takes just two quick steps:
- Download the Walktask app
- Set up your account (I’ll show you exactly how to do this in my article)
The app runs in the background and tracks how much you move. Once you hit certain step goals, you’ll get coins added to your account.
These coins work like points – save them up and you can either:
- Get real money (PayPal) sent to your account
- Pick something nice from their gift store
The more you walk, the more coins you’ll get. That’s really all there is to it. Your daily movement becomes a way to build up rewards.
Use my recommendation code: C43WDQ
Each step brings you closer to your next reward. The app keeps counting as long as you keep moving.
Paid to Walk – Turn your daily walks into EXTRA cash
Walking puts money in your pocket with WalkTask. It’s as simple as that.
Getting started takes two things: walking around and clicking a box to collect your rewards.
The rules? Take a walk, earn virtual coins. Just don’t forget to grab your coins by clicking the gift box each day. Miss a day, and those coins vanish when the clock strikes midnight.
Bad news though… The app changed things up. Now you need 200 steps to earn one coin – that’s twice as many as before. People aren’t happy about this at all. It makes sense – we’re still doing the same walking, but getting less for it.
Quick heads up: Don’t get confused if you see “coins” or “points” mentioned – they mean the exact same thing, even if earning them takes more work these days…
If walking for money interests you, take a look at these other apps: Sweatcoin, Walken, StepBet, DietBet, Yodo, or HealthyWage.
What else can you do on Walktask to boost your earnings?
Walking isn’t the only way to pick up coins on this app. I found four other solid ways to add to your earnings:
- Bring your friends along
Your friends can help you rack up 30-360 coins when they join with your code. Based on what I’ve seen though, you usually get 50 coins – no more, no less. Plus, if they stick around for a week, you’ll get some extra coins too.
- Quick video breaks
Hit the Bonus button and you’ll find some short videos to watch. Each one gets you 1 coin, and you can usually watch 2 per day. Not huge money, but it adds up.
- Gaming time
The app includes some mini-games you can play for extra coins. It’s a nice change of pace from just walking.
- Fill out surveys
Just like on sites such as GG2U, Thrifty Pig, ySense, or PurplePatch, you can answer surveys to earn more coins.
The fun part? You can mix and match these methods while you’re out walking!

How do you get free coins with daily check-in?
Daily check-in is the easiest way to earn on Walktask.
Just open the app and click the Daily check-in button at the top right of the HOME screen.
Remember – you can only click it once each day. On your first day, you’ll get 1 coin. By day 3, it goes up to 2 coins. After a full week, you’ll earn another 2 coins. Add it all up and that’s 9 coins in your pocket every week.
It takes seconds to do and you barely need to lift a finger.

How do you get paid?
Your rewards depend on where you live. Once you collect enough coins, you can pick from different gift cards in the store.
Right now, you can trade your coins for:
- Amazon gift cards
- PayPal money
- Google Play credit
Getting your money is simple. Once you collect 3,000 coins ($5), just hit the “Redeem” button. You’ll see all the available rewards. If you want more, you can save up to 30,000 coins ($50).
To get your reward:
- Click “Redeem“
- Pick the gift card you want
- Trade your coins
- Check your email – your reward will arrive in a few hours
That’s all! Each reward shows up in your registered email address after you make the trade.

How to join WalkTask?
Getting started with WalkTask is pretty simple. All you need is your phone and a few minutes to set things up.
First, grab the WalkTask app from your phone’s store. Android phones use Google Play Store, while iPhones use the App Store.
Next, make a new account – it’s just like signing up for any other app. You’ll need to connect either your Google email or Facebook to finish setting up.
When you’re making your account, you’ll see a spot asking for a referral code. Just type in “C43WDQ” there.
Now comes the fun part… Your phone will start tracking your steps automatically. You don’t even need to keep the app open – it works quietly in the background while you go about your day. Every step adds coins to your balance.
By the way, if you haven’t used anyone else’s invite code yet, using my code (C43WDQ) would really help support my blog.
Where can i use the WalkTask app?
WalkTask works worldwide. The app welcomes users from every country.
You won’t see all countries listed in the app. That’s ok! When your country isn’t shown directly, just pick “Other (OTHER)” from the list. This option covers all additional locations.
The fastest way to check? Just open your phone’s app store:
- Search “WalkTask” on Google Play
- Or look it up on the App Store
If you see the app in your search results, you’re good to go! This means it’s ready for download in your area.
How does WalkTask work on your computer?
You can’t use WalkTask on your computer at all. It’s strictly a phone app.
Taking your laptop everywhere you walk around just isn’t practical. That’s why the app works only on phones.
Trust me, your phone is all you need for this one.
How reliable are the WalkTask app reviews?
I typically check TrustPilot reviews to understand what people think about money-making sites and apps. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any WalkTask reviews there.
This led me to check both Google Play and the AppStore for user feedback. The numbers on Google Play look solid – WalkTask has grabbed over 1 million downloads and collected more than 100,000 reviews, landing a 4.3 rating.
The AppStore tells a different story with smaller numbers. While WalkTask scored a higher 4.7 rating, it only collected about 4,500 reviews. Makes sense though… the app sees much more action on Android phones than iPhones.
Advantages and Disadvantages of WalkTask app
I’ve spent time testing out WalkTask app to see if it’s worth your time. Let’s look at what’s good and not so good about it… this will help you decide if it’s right for you.
Advantages
- You’ll get a welcome bonus when you use a referral code – extra cash right from the start.
- Walking gets you tokens – seriously, you earn rewards for every 200 steps. Yeah, you’re making money from something you’d be doing anyway.
- You can cash out through PayPal or grab Amazon gift cards. I like having options, even though you’ll need to save up quite a bit before withdrawing.
- No money needed to start. Just grab your phone and… start walking!
- Works on both iPhones and Android phones. Your current phone will do just fine.
Disadvantages
- You’ll need to collect 3000 tokens ($5 worth) before cashing out. From what I’ve seen, this takes quite a bit of walking.
- Setting up payments requires extra accounts. You must link either PayPal or Amazon separately, unlike direct bank transfers which would be simpler.
- The token system feels a bit complex – 3000 tokens equals $5. I often find myself doing mental math to figure out my actual earnings.
- The long-term payment rates might change. Based on my research, the app doesn’t guarantee they’ll keep the same reward levels forever.
Is WalkTask Legit Or A Scam earning app?
Is WalkTask safe to use? I checked out WalkTask myself and… yeah, it’s actually paying people right now. When users hit the minimum amount needed, they can get their money.
Not gonna lie – you won’t get rich using this app. But I get why many people like it.
It’s super simple. Just carry your phone around when you’re out walking (with internet on). That’s literally all you need to do to make a bit of money.
Sure, it’ll take a while before you see any real cash… but since you’re just walking around like normal anyway, it’s not bad at all.
Plus there’s a nice bonus – it might get you moving more, which is great for your health!
